It can be a kitchen that lacks a concrete countertop, or a bathroom that looks poor and is not functional at all without concrete countertop. But don’t rip away everything at once, consider some things first: · Where and in which room exactly you would like to make renovation. Probably, it will be only one room. Or two. But think over necessity to do renovation there and how “deep” you are going to involve in it. · Reasons for remodeling. Making repair is a solution. It should be the best solution of yours, as soon as it solves some huge problems: not enough space, not enough function, outdated cabinets or concrete countertops. · All rooms at once or one room at a time. Of course, there are evident advantages for remodeling all rooms, though it seems that it will cost much. Only once you will survive over dirt; you won’t have to do remodeling again and again. On the other hand, you are going to save your money when you are waiting for the next room remodeling. Anyway, it’s up to you to choose the best for you approach. No matter, if you are shopping online or this is a physical shopping, the plan and the budget for the future renovation is a must. If you don’t, this is going to be a huge mistake. Each room has its needs, so depending on which room you decide to remodel, you will have to make decisions on the following issues: · Flooring type and style that’s the best for your home. · Kitchen or bathroom (depending on the design) may lack a backsplash. · Lots of options are available, but a concrete countertop in the kitchen or in the bathroom will be a perfect solution. · Consider some necessary spaces for storing things. It could be cabinets for any room. · Appliances and hardware. · Contractors are to be found or recommended by friends As soon as you select all necessary materials and finds you contractor, it’s high time to think over the budget. Phase 3. Should we? Remodeling is a large investment. Be prepared for that and not be stressed when seeing the bottom line. Breathe deeply, calm down, look at the bottom line again and move forward. If you need to correct some costs, then do it: buy less expensive materials, do some labor yourself, etc. Having doubts is an ordinary thing; don’t be afraid to have doubts. Phase 4. When will it be over? It’s already two weeks that you can’t normally cook, you house is a mess and there is dust everywhere. It’s like a road trip – it seems neverending. Unfortunately, patience is not neverending. To cope with the stress here are some tips for you: · Don’t start remodeling during holidays. Otherwise, you are going to be busy accepting and entertaining your guests. · Make a hotel reservation, book a room or spend time in your parents’ house, up to the day the remodeling is over. Anyway, you house won’t be functional for you. · Concentrate on the progress. Yes, there is a mess in your house. But every day is a step to the remodeling finish. And when you see the difference between what you house looked like and how it will be looking, then you will appreciate your courage. Phase 5. It was an amazing experience! After a “repair disaster” there was nobody to regret about it. Life becomes prettier, more comfortable, more functional, and easier after renovation is complete. Concrete Countertops: what kinds and where they are applied. There is a compulsory rule - lightweight concrete cannot be used to build underground rooms, and heavy for the construction of inter-apartment walls, because when they collapse, they can cause great harm to health (imagine that heavy concrete of medium size weighs more than 1800 kg). The purpose of concrete is also different, in view of this there is a classification: structural and special concretes. The first are used for the construction of predominantly bearing walls, supporting structures. The second require use in a certain area with addition of additional substances. Concrete is divided in structure and type of astringents. This type distinguishes the following: cement, lime, gypsum, slag and other binders to concrete. The following structure can be identified: dense, cellular, porous, coarse-porous. It is believed that for the construction of basic structures it is necessary to use cohesive or dense concrete. For building heat-insulating walls, only porous or cellular types of concrete are used. Concrete is checked for durability to prevent fraud or defective products. For more information, look here.
